The Joseph Rowntree Theatre

The Joseph Rowntree Theatre is a community theatre used by many of the musical and dramatic groups based in York. The auditorium seats 362 in stalls and a balconey (see below). York Opera has had an excellent and much valued working relationship with the Joseph Rowntree Theatre throughout its entire history - some forty years! As well as being a superb venue for opera, both on a grand and smaller scale, the theatre has always been committed to the York community, providing first-rate facilities and staff with the sole aim of assisting local groups and organisations.

York Opera is proud of its long-standing association with the Joseph Rowntree Theatre and would encourage its audiences and the people of York to continue to support this beautiful venue.

The Joseph Rowntree Theatre is situated on the junction of Haxby Road and Haley's Terrace, north-east of York city centre.

Full details on how to find the theatre can be found on the Joseph Rowntree Theatre website.

Free parking is available at the theatre. Click on the map on the right to go straight to the Theatre's parking page.
