Tracy Bowen

Tracy is the head of history at Fulford School. Born in Nottingham, she grew up in High Wycombe, where in 1993 she became the Wycombe Orpheus Young Musician of the Year for her singing. She read history at Swansea University and trained for her Postgraduate Certificate in Education at York University. Since 2001 she has been the resident singer for the York Light Orchestra with a wide repertoire of popular classical, traditional and modern songs. She has also performed with York Light Opera, playing a maid in My Fair Lady. Tracy joined York Opera for the first time in 2005 in the chorus of HMS Pinafore, has since been in the chorus for many other productions and has understudied various roles. Her principal roles with the company include Giannetta in The Elixir of Love, Lucy Lockett in The Beggar's Opera and a cameo role as the fearsomely apocalyptic Zorah in Ruddigore.
