Jennifer Garbutt

Jennifer joined the cast of York Opera in 2006 for their production of The Elixir of Love. Thereafter, she took the role of Fiametta in The Gondoliers, also covering Casilda. She then appeared in the chorus of Hugh the Drover, as well as covering the role of Mary. In 2008 Jennifer took the role of Kate in The Yeomen of the Guard, followed by those of Papagena in The Magic Flute in 2009 and both Belinda in Dido and Aeneas and Ruth in Ruddigore in 2010. Jennifer's love of music started with singing in choirs in her native Scotland, and eventually it led to her joining the National Youth Choir of Scotland. She now sings as one third of Capriccio, a York based group performing a varied repertoire including opera and lieder. Jennifer is a solicitor in York specialising in family law.
