Annie Howard

Annie Howard is in the lower 6th at Bootham school, currently studying for A levels. This is her second performance with York Opera, having sung with the chorus last year. She sang her first operatic role as the 3rd Genie in a concert performance of The Magic Flute for the Ryedale Festival in 2009 and played the part of the Baker's Wife in the school production of Sondheim's Into the Woods this summer. Annie started singing with St Olave's church choir at the age of 6, shortly afterwards becoming a York Minster chorister. More recently she joined the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. Last year she gave a solo recital in Selby Abbey for Oxjam. She still sings in St Olave's choir and also plays the violin with York Guildhall Orchestra.
